a little about my WHY
My career trajectory spans classroom teacher to school district administrator to chief equity officer, but all the while I was secretly harbouring the desire to be a writer. My dreams have finally come true with the much awaited fruition of my first soon-to-be published book. Much different from writing a dissertation, a memoir required me to share quite vulnerably with the hopes of connecting to readers across the globe who have ever struggled with understanding who they are as a human. Whether you choose to read my book, my dissertation, or follow the reflections on this website, may you find something that connects us, or a gem which inspires you, and may you be reminded of the miracle that you are - no matter what anyone may say otherwise. my forever person
I did not meet the love of my life until I was 47 years old and he was worth the wait! Even though he proposed to me on our first date, we did wait four months before getting engaged. This is a wonderful thing about finding your person later in life, you have already learned what you want and do not want in a life partner so it means less games, less drama, and more love and learning. This man is unparalleled to any other and believes that Die Hard is the best Christmas movie ever. Total keeper! This man also came into my life with two daughters who I now get to call my stepdaughters...so total package as well!
Our forever dog
Meet Rocky Balboa Sheehan, aka Sugar Bear. True story...my husband was told by a co-worker that he should get a dog, and that he looked like a beagle person. The very next day he found this regal beagle tied to a street lamp and took him home. A win for us! He is the best dog ever, short legs and all!
