I am thrilled to announce that my first book, a memoir, will be available for purchase in the spring of 2025, if not sooner. This project has been a true labor of love spanning multiple years of writing and multiple decades of trying to figure out who I am, who I was, and who I want to be. Written as a tribute to my parents who gave me two lives, and to God who gives me all of life, I happily and unapologetically share moments that I hope you will find a connection with in some small or big way. Please see below for more details and I hope that we can stumble forward together. Much love & gratitude!
As a refugee who fled to the United States with my family when I was 2 1/2 years old, vulnerability was something I could not escape. As I grew older, I learned that there was another kind of vulnerability that I could leverage on my terms. This vulnerability helped shape me in countless ways for the better.
As an immigrant student attending public schools, I struggled with belonging. I felt more comfortable being around people who also lived outside the mainstream. As I grew into leading equity work in professional spaces, I learned that I also needed to do the personal work to ensure my own mental models were inclusive and adaptive.
As the daughter of a Catholic father and a Buddhist mother who did not force either religion on me, I was clueless when it came to spiritual faith. The nonconformist in me resisted being told by anyone what to believe. It took a life-changing moment and mistake, and many lessons, for me to understand that God was always there with me. Then I finally knew peace.
